For those who want to take it easy, one of Germany's oldest cable cars to the Obersalzberg is only 300 meters away. It is less than a five-minute walk to the famous Watzmann Therme, named after Germany's second highest mountain, the legendary Watzmann (2714m) with his wife and seven children. After a bath in the brine pool or a cozy sauna session in a recreated salt mine gallery, the guest can expect the very cozy Bräustüberl, where the beer culture has been cultivated since 1645, in the immediate vicinity of Haus Wendlinger.

Arrival Description

Possibility 1:From the highway A8 (Munich-Salzburg) exit Bad Reichenhall on the B20 in the direction of Berchtesgaden. After approx. 18 km drive through Bischofswiesen, stay on B20 until Berchtesgaden train station. Continue as described below...Option 2:From the A8 freeway (Munich-Salzburg) take the Traunstein-Siegsdorf exit onto the B305 (German Alpine Road) via Inzell, Schneizlreuth, Unterjettenberg, Ramsau to Berchtesgaden. From Berchtesgaden train station see description below...Option 3:Via the A8 freeway (Munich-Salzburg) continue over the "Walserberg" border crossing onto the A10 Tauern freeway in the direction of Villach (Attention! Vignette compulsory!), take the "Grödig-Berchtesgaden" exit and continue over the border crossing to Marktschellenberg. Here on the B305 via the district "Unterau" to the entrance of Berchtesgaden. After approx. 1,5km there is a big Tengelmann on the left side. After another 300m a traffic light (turn left to Obersalzberg), here you turn right into the street "Am Mühlbach".Directions from Berchtesgaden train station:From Berchtesgaden train station drive in the direction of Salzburg. After about 2 km you will see the Obersalzberg gondola lift on your right. At this intersection (traffic lights) turn left into the street "Am Mühlbach".
